YOUR QUESTIONS, BY TOPIC

Bulk buying, weights & cost

What is the difference between live weight, hanging weight and packaged weight?

Live weight is the weight of the animal before harvest. Hanging weight, also called carcass weight, is measured after the head, hide, hooves and internal organs have been removed. Packaged weight is the finished meat prepared for your freezer.

Cutting choices, bones, trim and moisture loss affect the final yield. These weights are not interchangeable, so check which one is used for your quote. Our current share estimates appear in the planning table below; the figures for your actual order are confirmed separately.

What does a half beef share include?

The actual assortment depends on the selected option and agreed cut plan. Ask about cuts, package sizes and estimated packaged weight before paying. Planning ranges help with storage but do not guarantee identical yield from every animal.

How much is a quarter beef?

Compare the current quarter options on the beef product page and check the stated price basis. Processing, packing, shipping and applicable tax may affect the final amount. Our quarter-beef cost guide explains how to compare the quote without confusing hanging weight with take-home weight.

Business-supplied planning ranges. These are separate estimates, not a mathematical conversion between shares. Animal size, cutting choices and bone-in or boneless selection affect yield. Your confirmed order states the actual packed weight; shipping charges use the configured shipment weight, not these guide ranges.

YOUR QUESTIONS, BY TOPIC

Cuts & processing

What is a custom beef cut sheet, and how do I complete one?

A cut sheet records the preferences you agree with the butcher. It can cover steak thickness, the number of steaks in a package, bone-in or boneless choices, roast size and ground-beef package sizes. You can also ask about fat ratios, organ meats and bones.

Start with the meals you cook and the amount your household uses at one time. Ask which options are available for the selected share or processing job. Some cuts come from the same part of the animal, so not every combination is possible. Confirm the final instructions with the team before processing.

How do I book custom processing?

Send the species, animal count, intended use and preferred timing through the contact form. Discuss the service, cut preferences, quote basis and collection arrangements before a slot is confirmed.

How far in advance should I enquire about processing or a bulk order?

Enquire early, especially for autumn processing, holiday meals or a large freezer order. As a planning starting point, allow three to six weeks for a conversation about a custom slot or seasonal share, then ask the team what is actually available.

This is a planning suggestion, not a fixed lead time or a reserved appointment. Product readiness, the processing schedule and any shipping arrangement must be confirmed for the order. If you need a particular date, raise it before making travel plans or sending payment.

What is the difference between inspected processing and custom-exempt processing?

Inspected operations and custom-exempt services have different purposes and requirements. Custom-exempt meat is for the animal owner’s household and permitted personal use, including nonpaying guests and employees; it is marked “Not for Sale” and cannot be sold as ordinary retail meat.

If you plan to sell meat or use it commercially, tell the team at the start so the appropriate processing arrangement can be confirmed. Do not assume a custom-processing booking covers a resale plan.

YOUR QUESTIONS, BY TOPIC

Ordering & payment

Can I order directly online?

Yes. Select an available product option, add the quantity to your cart and submit checkout. Save the order number and private code. If final weight or freight needs review, wait for the confirmed amount before payment.

How do I pay and send proof?

Choose an enabled payment method and follow the confirmed recipient details and reference on your private order page. Upload the payment receipt there. The team checks it against the actual transaction before marking payment verified.

YOUR QUESTIONS, BY TOPIC

Shipping & local pickup

Can you ship a whole beef order?

You can request shipping for the destination at checkout. A large share may require several cartons or bulk freight. The route, packing, receiving arrangements and fee are confirmed for the order. Same-day air freight is only considered where the actual route and schedule allow it.

Where can I collect an order?

Ask about the agreed collection arrangement at our Comer, Georgia location. Confirm the time before traveling and prepare suitable cold transport and freezer space. An enquiry or requested date does not by itself confirm collection.

YOUR QUESTIONS, BY TOPIC

Feeding preferences

Is every beef option grass-fed?

No universal feeding claim is made for the catalogue. If you need grass-fed or grass-finished beef, ask about availability and supporting information for the exact product. A breed name or pasture photograph does not establish the feeding program.
